Club Fair this year was insane. Over 200 clubs set up posters, games, and food all across the quad. You could barely walk without bumping into someone trying to hand you a flyer or bribe you with food. My club’s table was stacked with cookies and brownies, which we’d spent the day before preparing for. I actually bought all the food myself and had to stash it in my car until the extended lunch period. My backseat smelled like sugar the entire morning, but honestly it was worth it. When we finally brought the boxes out, people crowded around right away, and it definitely helped us grab attention.
I worked with my officer team to make the posters earlier in the week. We stayed after school for a while painting, cutting, and trying to make the designs pop so they wouldn’t blend in with the hundreds of other displays. It felt good to see our hard work pay off when people stopped to read them. Between the posters and the food, we ended up signing up over 250 new members, which blew past my expectations. It’s kind of wild to think that many students want to join, and now we’ll actually have to figure out how to manage such a big group.

What I liked about Club Fair too was just walking around and checking out the other tables. There were so many creative setups, from robotics demos to cultural clubs passing out food samples. Some clubs I already knew, but it was cool to see the brand new ones starting this year. I even wrote a few names down of clubs I might want to check out myself.
The whole thing reminded me why I love the energy of the beginning of the school year. Everyone’s excited, trying new things, and getting involved. It’s hectic, but in a fun way. For me, the best part wasn’t just recruiting members for my own club but also feeling like I’m part of a community that has so many different passions.
