The End of Junior Year

Hey everyone! It’s been a long time since my last post, way longer than I planned. I usually write every couple of weeks, but between AP exams, finals, and wrapping up junior year, things got really hectic. I wanted to give a quick update on what I’ve been up to and what’s coming next.

First off: junior year is officially over! It feels surreal. I finished the year with all A’s, a 5.0 GPA this semester, and a 4.55 weighted GPA overall (4.0 unweighted). From 10th to 12th grade, my A–G GPA is a 4.85. It was a stressful year, but I’m really proud of how it ended.

I’ve also been continuing my research. I’m now working with Dr. Ben Lee on a new project (more on that soon), and I just started an Honors Physics course over the summer so I can take AP Physics 2 next year. On top of that, I’m starting something I’ve been thinking about for a long time: I’m going to write a book! The idea is to connect all four of my research projects into one story that explores what care and healing mean across different systems. It’s still early, but I’m excited to get started.

Some other updates:

  • Science Alliance ended on such a great note! The science fair was super fun and honestly one of the best parts of the whole program. Seeing everyone’s work come together was so rewarding.

  • The Tap Initiative hit a bit of a roadblock- the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) got suspended by AmeriCorps, which means we can’t offer it to volunteers for now. We’re working on finding alternatives so we can still recognize everyone’s contributions.

  • And junior year ended, which means the seniors are gone. Saying goodbye was harder than I expected. Some of them were huge role models for me, and now I’m suddenly a rising senior?? It doesn’t feel real yet, but I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.

I’ll be posting more soon: updates about the book, the new research, and some thoughts on Upheaval by Jared Diamond.  Thanks for reading and sticking around even after the long silence. Can’t wait to share more soon!
