Hey everyone! As promised, I will be talking about my time at the Native American Center, which is the Tap Initiative’s cultural center, where we will be volunteering for the rest of this half of the year! I had a fantastic time there, and this work was more minimal and laid back than the arduous work we toiled through at the Fa Yun Chan Temple.
When I arrived in the morning, we started organizing beads into plastic bags so the instructors could guide some students through making animals out of these beads. This process was relatively short, and we worked for around 1 hour on those. Next, we had a little break and then resumed working by organizing their vast library filled with books about Native Americans and their culture.
We then had pizza to eat for lunch and resumed working with the books. We logged the names of each book and will log them on a computer in the Native American Center next time. We have not yet put the books back on the shelf in alphabetical order but plan to do so.

I had an excellent time at the Native American Center and enjoyed chatting with our members and instructors. We had a blast and can’t wait to return next time! We enjoyed the departure from the exhausting work we did at the Temple and hope to have fun next time, too.
