The August trip was another day of putting in the work to make the temple space better. We started off with the main task of the day: shoveling dirt and bringing it down to fill the planting sections. It sounds simple, but after a few trips back and forth with buckets, you really start to feel it. Still, there’s something satisfying about watching those empty sections slowly fill up and knowing it’s all going to help the temple gardens grow in the future.

After finishing most of the dirt work, we had another job to tackle. We needed to move some furniture so we could get tables and chairs out of a building. It took some teamwork and a little creativity, but we got it done. These smaller tasks don’t seem like much, but they make a big difference when the temple hosts events and needs the space ready.
For lunch, I picked up food for everyone, and after hours of hauling dirt and moving heavy furniture, it definitely hit the spot. We ate together, took a breather, and then wrapped up the last few things before heading out.
This trip wasn’t flashy, but like all the others, it was about showing up, helping out, and working as a team. Little by little, these efforts add up, and it feels good to be part of something that lasts. See you in the next post!
